AWS Data Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated AWS Data Engineer with hands-on experience in building and managing data pipelines using AWS Glue, S3, and Athena. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ETL processes, data modeling, and cloud-native data engineering practices

Key Responsibilities:

• 5 years of experience in data engineering with focused on AWS.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines using AWS Glue , PySpark and Python
• Manage data lakes and data warehouses using Amazon S3, Athena, and Redshift.
• Develop and maintain Athena queries for data analysis and reporting.
• Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting for data pipelines.
• Ensure data security and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Optimize performance and cost of data workflows in the AWS environment.
• Implement best practices for data ingestion, transformation, and storage in a cloud-native environment.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Mentor junior data engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing and process improvement.
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Expert-level proficiency in AWS Glue, S3, Athena, and Lambda.
• Strong programming skills in Python, PySpark, and SQL.
• Experience with data modeling, schema design, and data warehousing concepts.

• Experience with data lake architecture, partitioning strategies
• Familiarity with CI/CD, pipelines and infrastructure as code , Terraform/CloudFormation, and DevOps practices.
• Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty or equivalent certification
• Exposure to Redshift, Kinesis, or Kafka is a plus.
• Background in big data technologies like EMR, Hadoop, or Spark is a plus
• Exposure to machine learning pipelines and data science workflows is a plus
