This position supports Cummins’ global reporting standards and collaborates closely with senior BI analysts and leaders to enhance business performance through data intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, document, and analyze reporting requirements to deliver recurring and ad-hoc business intelligence reports.
- Extract data from operational systems and reporting databases to develop insights and support decision-making.
- Perform quality assurance and validate findings to ensure the accuracy and reliability of analytical conclusions.
- Apply appropriate analytical and visualization methods to solve business problems and communicate results effectively.
- Develop and maintain globally standardized dashboards and reports using Cummins’ BI tools and frameworks.
- Collaborate with the Business Intelligence Analyst - Senior and Business Intelligence Leader to clarify objectives, refine analyses, and ensure stakeholder alignment.
- Communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders, promoting data-driven decision-making across business units.

Knowledge, Skills, and Technical Competencies:
Technical Skills
- SQL: Basic proficiency in writing simple queries and understanding joins.
- BI Tools: Foundational understanding of Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel for reporting and visualization.
- Programming: Exposure to Python or R for data analysis or scripting.
- Data Analytics & Mining: Ability to extract, interpret, and visualize data to identify trends, relationships, and actionable insights.
- Data Quality: Awareness of data integrity and governance principles for accurate reporting and decision support.
- Communicates Effectively: Clearly conveys information tailored to diverse audiences.
- Nimble Learning: Adapts quickly and learns from experimentation and feedback.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Education, Licenses, Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics , or a related quantitative field is required.
- Equivalent professional experience in data analytics, BI reporting, or a related field may be considered.
- Prior experience in analyzing data and generating actionable insights required.
- Exposure to data analytics, visualization, or database management through academic projects or internships preferred.
- Experience supporting a customer-focused organization is advantageous.
