Data Architect - Synapse Analytics

Overview

• We are seeking a seasoned 11+ yrs of Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of a modern data ecosystem for a leading US-based insurance organization.
• The architect will define the data strategy, drive on-premises to cloud migration, design data ingestion frameworks, and provide guidance on technology selection within the Microsoft and modern data platform stack.
• Design and implement enterprise data architecture in Azure Fabric, including unified data models, governance, metadata and lineage frameworks.
• Lead on-prem to Azure Fabric migration, defining a phased roadmap and optimizing lakehouse, pipelines and storage.
• Build high-throughput data ingestion and transformation pipelines using Fabric Data Factory, Dataflows and Synapse integration for structured, semi-structured and unstructured data.
• Architect real-time and event-driven pipelines with Fabric Event Streams and Data Activator to enable AI/ML, BI and operational analytics.
• Evaluate and select Fabric-native components (OneLake, DirectLake, Synapse, Data Activator, KQL) for optimal storage, analytics and visualization.
• Apply expertise in data modelling, orchestration and performance optimization within Azure Fabric ecosystem.
• Ensure data governance, compliance and security aligned with US insurance regulations, enabling discoverable and trusted enterprise data.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across business, analytics and enterprise teams for solution alignment and adoption.
