The Team
Our software engineers are responsible for designing and implementing proprietary systems and tools that drive the quantitative strategy research and implementation that powers AQR. Our development teams are small, motivated, and highly productive. Collaborating side-by-side with researchers and portfolio analysts, you will become intimately familiar with the investment philosophy which drives AQR.
Your Role
You will be a part of the Enterprise Engineering team, which is responsible for design and development of foundational software infrastructure utilized by applications throughout AQR, including:
The libraries provide business applications with core functionalities needed to build any application within our environment. In addition, we provide standardized cloud-based runtime platform with necessary tooling for all AQR applications.
Our team is also responsible for building common business services which are critical for functioning of overall AQR business.
We also work with other development teams to ensure that these standardized technologies are adapted across AQR.

- Common Data Platform
- Enterprise Messaging Platform
- Role Based Entitlements System
- Application Monitoring and Alerting
- Application Configuration Management
- Workflows

What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- 2+ years of professional experience in software application development.
- Expertise in writing clean, modular, and maintainable code.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as Amazon Q, Claude Code, Goose, Open Hands, etc.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins and Git.
- Experience with SQL databases.
- Experience with testing frameworks to ensure code quality.
- Excellent coding, debugging, and analytical skills.
- Adaptable and proactive, with the ability to contribute to existing products and take initiative in developing proof-of-concepts (POCs) as needed.
- Experience working with complex projects through the software development lifecycle.
- Experience working in a geographically spread-out team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Hands on programming experience with mastery over at least one programming language: Java, Python, C#, GO, and Angular.
- Experience with multiple languages is a plus.
- You possess thoughtfulness, making you an ideal fit for a collaborative and team-focused environment.
- You are industrious and keen to learn in a fast-moving and innovative setting.
