Overview
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with extensive experience (12+ years) in the Indian insurance market to lead business analysis efforts for strategic digital transformation and product development initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have deep domain knowledge across Life, Health, and General Insurance, combined with strong experience in Agile SDLC, requirement analysis, and end-to-end product development. The role involves working closely with Product Owners, Project Managers, Development, and QA teams to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of business solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Requirement Elicitation & Documentation:
Engage with business stakeholders, product owners, and SMEs to gather, analyze, and document business requirements and processes.
Prepare comprehensive Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Specifications, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria aligned with Agile standards.
Collaboration & Delivery Alignment
Partner closely with the Project Manager and Development Team throughout all phases of the project — planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
Act as a key bridge between business teams and technology teams to ensure clarity, traceability, and successful implementation of requirements.
Agile Product Development
Support Product Owners in defining product vision, backlog prioritization, and roadmap execution.
Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Testing & UAT Coordination
Define and review test scenarios and UAT test cases to validate business functionality.
Coordinate UAT execution with business stakeholders, track issues, and ensure timely closure.
Insurance Domain Expertise
Apply deep understanding of insurance processes — underwriting, policy servicing, claims management, and renewals — across Life, Health, and P&C products.
Ensure all solutions comply with IRDAI regulations and other relevant data protection standards.
Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as a trusted advisor and single point of contact for business stakeholders.
Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies effectively to leadership and delivery teams.
Product Lifecycle Management
Support end-to-end product development — from ideation and design to implementation and post-launch performance monitoring.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization.
Data & Insights
Analyze business data and feedback to identify trends, process gaps, and opportunities for innovation.
Support the definition of product KPIs and ensure data-driven decision-making.

Required Skills And Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum 12 years of experience in Business Analysis or Product Development within the Indian Insurance or InsurTech domain.
- Proven track record of delivering complex, cross-functional projects in Agile environments.
- Domain Expertise:
- Strong understanding of Indian insurance value chain—including product setup, underwriting, claims, and regulatory requirements.
- Exposure to core insurance systems, policy administration platforms, and digital front-end solutions.
- Agile & SDLC Expertise:
- Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and end-to-end Software Development Life Cycle.
- Proficiency in tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Azure DevOps.
- Technical & Analytical Acumen:
- Ability to understand data models, integrations, APIs, and workflows to bridge business and technical perspectives effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess requirements and recommend feasible, value-driven solutions.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management:
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills to engage with senior business leaders, product owners, and IT stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
- Leadership & Collaboration:
- Ability to lead business analysis activities independently, mentor junior analysts, and drive collaboration across multi-functional teams.
- Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Preferred certifications: Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), or equivalent Agile/BA certifications.
- Experience in core system transformation or digital platform modernization projects in insurance.
- Exposure to automation, AI, or data-driven insurance product implementations.
- Prior experience working with global delivery models or multi-location teams.
