About This Role
We are seeking an experienced IP/MPLS Network Engineer to ensure the business impacts of critical and complex outages in the area of IP/MPLS backbone, Internet networks, and critical enterprise services are minimized. The role involves identifying root causes and resolving issues promptly, round the clock. You will be accountable for minimizing the impact of network changes and reducing human errors by effectively driving the change process. As part of the network transformation program, you will work towards identifying operation automation opportunities, collaborating with the development team for deployment, testing, and achieving expected benefits. This role requires working with multiple teams locally and globally, demonstrating agility to resolve or reduce the number of issues/incidents effectively by exploring multiple feasible options.

About This Role
We are seeking an experienced IP/MPLS Network Engineer to ensure the business impacts of critical and complex outages in the area of IP/MPLS backbone, Internet networks, and critical enterprise services are minimized. The role involves identifying root causes and resolving issues promptly, round the clock. You will be accountable for minimizing the impact of network changes and reducing human errors by effectively driving the change process. As part of the network transformation program, you will work towards identifying operation automation opportunities, collaborating with the development team for deployment, testing, and achieving expected benefits. This role requires working with multiple teams locally and globally, demonstrating agility to resolve or reduce the number of issues/incidents effectively by exploring multiple feasible options.
What you will do
- Operate and maintain IP network devices and connectivity to the local market, including CISCO 9k, 12k, ASR routers, Juniper-MX960, Alcatel-7750, and other connected IP network elements.
- Provide continuous 24x7 support for the IP Core Network.
- Handle network complaints and incident management.
- Perform HW and SW fault analysis and resolution, service continuity assurance, disaster recovery, and RMA.
- Raise problem management tickets.
- Conduct hands-on HW troubleshooting with at least one vendor (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel).
- Identify single points of failure and root causes of isolations.
- Prepare downtime and outage notifications and reports for preventive maintenance.
- Monitor and report on capacity.
- Document the IP network.
- Manage SLAs.
- Python scripting knowledge would be an added advantage.
- You hold a BSC or BE degree in Telecommunication, Information Technology, or Electrical Engineering.
- You have 8 to 12 years of work experience in IP Network technologies – ISIS, BGP, MPLS.
- You possess deep knowledge and understanding of IP networks and protocols.
- You have a good understanding of Core Network architectures and services.
- You have good HW troubleshooting knowledge.
- You have relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIP.
- You have hands-on experience with Alcatel-7750, CISCO-9k, 12K, and Juniper routers-MX960.
- You have a good understanding of SD-WAN technologies.
- You are highly motivated and autonomous.
- You have good spoken and written English skills.
