QA Engineer

Overview

RedBlackTree is a product development and technology services firm based in Chennai. We mainly work with startups from California and enterprise firms based in the US and Europe, helping them design, build and bring new products to market. We operate mainly in the healthcare, fintech, travel and manufacturing verticals.

We are seeking a QA Engineer with strong technical, analytical, and communication skills to ensure product quality across web and mobile platforms. The role involves designing, executing, and automating test cases, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating closely with developers and product teams to deliver high-quality, reliable solutions for global clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for web and mobile applications.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing across platforms.
• Create and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test reports.
• Conduct API testing using Postman or similar tools and validate backend data using SQL queries.
• Collaborate with development and product teams to identify, track, and resolve defects.
• Participate in Agile sprint planning, reviews, and daily stand-ups to ensure quality at each stage.
• Identify opportunities to enhance test automation coverage and efficiency.
• Support continuous integration by aligning test processes with CI/CD pipelines.
• Communicate quality metrics, risks, and issues to internal and external stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2.5–4 years of proven experience in Software Testing (Manual + Automation).
• Hands-on experience with Selenium, Postman, JIRA, and test management tools like TestRail / Zephyr.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Defect Life Cycle.
• Experience in API testing, UI testing, and cross-browser validation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation integration (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).
• Basic scripting knowledge in Python / Java for automation test development.
• Experience preparing structured QA reports and presenting to overseas customers.
• Exposure to performance testing (JMeter / LoadRunner).
• Experience with Agile tools (JIRA, Confluence).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted testing frameworks.
• Prior experience in startup or fast-paced product environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
