As a QA Engineer, you will be a key contributor in ensuring the quality of Huron’s enterprise applications. The successful candidate will help define and ensure that Huron’s applications meet high standards for reliability, usability, and performance.
You will work closely with the product management and engineering teams in the design, implementation, release, and maintenance of multi-user, dynamic, web-based and analytics applications. Requires a passion for delivering exceptional products, the curiosity and drive to learn client application usage patterns and behaviors, the technical skills to develop reusable and automated tests to ensure high quality user experience and the independence and persistence to own and drive quality through the life cycle of the product. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential aspects of this role.
Responsibilities
- Deliver all releases on time with high quality and ensure no P1 defects are introduced.
- Review requirements, specifications, and design documents to give timely feedback.
- Work closely with developers, product managers, and other teams to understand system requirements.
- Participate in design reviews and provide recommendations when needed.
- Estimate QA effort for user stories and bugs; write and run test plans/test cases.
- Create and prepare test data for projects.
- Analyze test results and work with developers to resolve issues.
- Design, develop, and run automation scripts (Selenium with Java).
- Perform deployments to QA and UAT environments independently (CI/CD process).
- Identify, document, track, and retest bugs.
- Conduct thorough regression testing.
- Recommend tools and techniques to improve testing.
- Support QA Lead by running bug scrub meetings and highlighting release risks.
- Stay updated on new testing tools and methodologies.
- Perform Data QA using advanced SQL.
- Evaluate large datasets for quality/accuracy and determine business impact.
- Work with developers to fix data quality problems.
- Write and run test data scripts based on ETL mappings; analyze output.
- Use statistical methods/tools (Excel, SAS, SPSS) for data validation.
- Analyze data to identify trends and issues using primary/secondary data sources.
- Test BI reporting tools and data pipelines (integration/unit testing).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong QA experience in functional, regression, and automation testing.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium and Java.
- Strong SQL skills (advanced preferred).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps or similar).
- Experience with test case management tools (e.g., Microsoft Test Manager).
- Experience with API testing (SoapUI, REST, XML).
- Experience using defect tracking and change management tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing technical environments.
- Strong background in Data QA.
- Ability to read/write complex SQL queries.
- Experience working with Big Data technologies and large data sets.
- Prior experience creating or maintaining automation frameworks.
- Experience with offshore teams.
- Experience in healthcare domain.
- Knowledge of statistical methods and tools (Excel, SAS, SPSS).
