About The Role

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure using Amazon Web Services (AWS).
You will collaborate closely with research teams to support advanced data processing, high-performance computing (HPC), and secure data management within a pharmaceutical research setting.
Key Responsibilities
AWS Infrastructure Management :
- Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Implement and support scalable computing environments for data-intensive applications such as genomics, proteomics, and molecular modeling.
- Automate infrastructure deployment and management using tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK.
- Set up and manage HPC clusters on AWS to support high-performance, compute-intensive workloads.
- Optimize computational resources for large-scale simulations, AI/ML workflows, and other research-related tasks.
- Design and manage storage solutions for large datasets using AWS services such as S3, EBS, and Glacier.
- Implement robust data lifecycle management strategies including backup, archiving, and retrieval to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, bioinformaticians, and IT staff to understand AWS requirements and provide technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve AWS infrastructure-related issues to ensure minimal disruption to research operations.
- Continuously monitor, assess, and optimize AWS infrastructure for cost efficiency, performance, and scalability.

Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience working with core AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, and IAM.
- Proven experience with HPC environments and large-scale cloud-based data processing.
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
- In-depth understanding of AWS best practices including security, cost optimization, and performance tuning.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps methodologies within AWS.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional.
- Experience working with AI/ML tools on AWS (e.g., SageMaker).
- Prior experience supporting pharmaceutical or life sciences clients, especially in drug discovery or research environments.
