Job Summary

We are seeking a technically proficient Software Developer with AutoCAD expertise to support the development of digital tools and automation systems tailored to the maritime industry. This role involves creating software applications that streamline vessel design, port compatibility checks, 3D modeling, and CAD-based engineering workflows. You’ll collaborate closely with naval architects, marine engineers, and operations teams to build smart, integrated maritime solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop software tools to analyze, visualize, or automate ship design, berth compatibility, and vessel layout using AutoCAD and maritime data.
• Build and maintain applications that integrate with CAD files (DWG/DXF) and general arrangement (GA) plans.
• Design user interfaces and web tools for marine engineers and operations personnel (e.g., 3D visualizations, clearance checks, etc.).
• Create scripts or AutoCAD plugins using AutoLISP, .NET API, or ObjectARX to automate repetitive tasks in ship design or layout evaluation.
• Work on data integration with classification society tools, port databases, or real-time operational inputs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand maritime engineering challenges and translate them into digital solutions.
• Conduct rigorous testing and documentation of developed applications and ensure maritime regulation compliance where needed (e.g., SOLAS, IMO).

• Prepare Technical reports / mooring analysis / computer models (Training provided)
• Collaborate with teams on initiatives. Prepare word/ excel/ ppt / power BI reports.
• Assist with commercial operation of vessels. Manage pricing strategies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
• 1+ years of experience in software development.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and experience with automating CAD tasks or developing custom extensions.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, C#, or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with ship structures, general arrangement drawings, and port infrastructure.
• Understanding of CAD file formats and 3D model integration.
• Experience with REST APIs and working with marine or engineering data.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in maritime or offshore engineering projects.
• Knowledge of 3D modeling tools or formats used in ship design (e.g., FBX, STEP, IFC).
• Exposure to tools like Rhino, Maxsurf, ShipConstructor, or AVEVA Marine.
• Experience developing web applications for ship-vessel compatibility, trim/stability checks, or berth allocation.
• Familiarity with regulations like SOLAS, MARPOL, or port terminal guidelines.
