We are seeking a Data/Software Engineer with at least 1 year of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate should have strong programming skills in Python, a solid understanding of data processing, and a passion for building efficient data pipelines.
Your responsibilities as an Engineer:
- Develop, optimise, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for data processing.
- Work with large datasets to ensure efficient storage, retrieval, and transformation.
- Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and software engineers to support business needs.
- Implement data validation, quality checks, and monitoring for pipeline health.
- Optimise database performance and troubleshoot bottlenecks.
- Work with cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) to store and process data.
- Automate repetitive data tasks using Python and scripting.
- Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
- Improves operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures.
- Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment
Skill sets we require:
- Proven work experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer
- Ability to develop software in Python or other programming languages
- Excellent knowledge of relational databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)
- Experience with test-driven development
- Proficiency in software engineering tools
- Ability to document requirements and specifications
- Experience with Apache Airflow or other workflow orchestration tools.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
- Knowledge of big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization technologies
- Experience designing interactive applications
Experience & Pedigree:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent
