Position Summary...

rives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness. Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy. Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events

The International Markets team contributes to key global eCommerce sites Walmart Canada, Walmart Mexico and Walmart Africa. We work on technologies that intersect a wide variety of business models for

What You’ll Do...

• Through this role you have an opportunity to develop intuitive software that meets and exceeds the needs of the customer and the company.
• You also get to collaborate with team members to develop best practices and client requirements for the software.
• In this role it would be important for you to professionally maintain all codes and create updates regularly to address the customer’s and company’s concerns
• You will show your skills in analysing and testing programs/products before formal launch to ensure flawless performance
• Troubleshooting coding problems quickly and efficiently will offer you a chance to grow your skills in a high-pace, high-impact environment.
• Software security is of prime importance and by developing programs that monitor sharing of private information, you will be able to add tremendous credibility to your work
• You will also be required to seek ways to improve the software and its effectiveness.
• You will be called upon to support the coaching and training of other team members to ensure all employees are confident in the use of software applications
  
  

What You’ll Bring...

You love code. You love to take raw ideas and build great and scalable micro services with Java (Spring) with either SQL or No-SQL based DB solutions. You might like to talk about obscure computer science topics, but really, you just want to write simple code and ship new products and features to customers (or improve existing ones). You love scalability, reliability, availability and observability .

Position Requirements:

Minimum qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in object-oriented programming and developing spring based micro services in Java
• 4+ years of experience in building of large scale data pipelines using big data technologies (i.e. Spark/Kafka/Cassandra/Hadoop/Hive/Presto/Airflow).
• 6+ years of experience in systems design, algorithms, and distributed systems.
  
  

Additional Qualifications:

• Large scale distributed systems experience, including scalability and fault tolerance.
• Exposure to cloud infrastructure, such as Open Stack, Azure, GCP, or AWS
• A continuous drive to explore, improve, enhance, automate and optimize systems and tools.
• Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures and algorithms
• Exposure to information retrieval, statistics, and machine learning.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications...

Certification in Security+, GISF, CISSP, CCSP, or GSEC, Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related area and 1 year’s experience leading information security or cybersecurity projects
