Job Summary :
We are seeking a strategic, data-driven business leader to join Walmart’s Last Mile Strategy & Science team. This high-impact role sits at the intersection of strategy, performance management, and advanced analytics, leading initiatives that drive measurable improvements in delivery cost, speed, service quality, and customer / driver experience. You will lead cross-functional initiatives that address priorities such as revenue improvement, fee and monetization strategies, catchment and geo-expansion, cost-to-serve reduction, and defect elimination. You will also be responsible for designing, building, and operationalizing the metrics, analytics, and governance frameworks that provide visibility, drive accountability, and support continuous performance improvement across Walmart’s last-mile delivery network. This role involves developing advanced analytics models, leveraging statistical and ML techniques to identify performance drivers (e.g., driver search time, batching lag, routing inefficiencies), and partnering with AI teams to deploy agents that automate insights, proactively detect gaps, and enable better decision-making. It requires close collaboration with senior stakeholders across Operations, Strategy, Finance, Tech, and Data Science to align priorities, embed insights into decisions, and guide scalable execution. This position is pivotal in shaping strategic direction while institutionalising performance management discipline, helping Walmart deliver on its customer promise in a cost-effective and scalable manner.

Last Mile Strategy & Science Team is a cross-functional team driving Walmart’s last-mile innovation by combining strategic thinking, advance analytics and data science, and operational excellence. - Lead high-priority strategic initiatives including revenue improvement, fee and monetization strategy, catchment / geo-expansion, cost-to-serve optimization, and defect reduction.
- Frame problems, design solutions, and develop business cases and KPIs to guide decision-making and measure impact.
- Develop and manage advanced analytics models to optimize delivery network performance, balancing customer satisfaction with operational cost and asset efficiency.
- Leverage statistical methods and ML models to isolate and quantify key performance drivers such as driver search time, batching lag, and routing inefficiencies.
- Establish and maintain standardized KPI and metric frameworks across Operations, Finance, and Tech, ensuring consistency and transparency.
- Partner with internal AI teams to deploy AI-driven agents that automate insights, proactively identify performance gaps, and streamline decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to secure alignment, sponsorship, and adoption of key initiatives, embedding data-driven insights into business processes.
- Oversee the creation of dashboards, reporting frameworks, and scenario models that provide leadership with actionable, forward-looking insights.
- Present clear, impact-oriented data narratives and recommendations to influence senior executives and guide strategic trade-offs.
- Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering a culture of disciplined execution, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
- 7–10+ years of experience in top-tier strategy consulting, corporate strategy, performance management, or advanced analytics in complex, large-scale businesses (preferably last-mile, supply-chain, logistics, or e-commerce).
- Proven ability to structure ambiguous problems, analyze large data sets, and translate insights into actionable strategies and measurable outcomes.
- Proficiency in analytics tools: For performance management roles, proficiency in SQL (Big Query or similar), Python (or R), Tableau / Looker, and experience with large-scale data handling and cloud-based platforms (e.g., GCP, Azure).
- Comfort working alongside data science and product partners to leverage advanced models for decision support.
- Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills, with experience influencing senior cross-functional leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and scale metrics frameworks and governance processes that drive accountability.
- A track record of leading high-performing teams, mentoring talent, and fostering a culture of analytical rigor, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
