Summary

The Technical Lead, IT Infrastructure applies technical, operational and process expertise to design, deliver, support and optimize Celestica's IT infrastructure, including network, computing, storage, telecommunication, and mobile devices. The Technical Lead, IT Infrastructure will ensure business continuity robust service delivery by driving internal and external team members to deliver high quality, strategic solutions, and will hold parties accountable when incidents and problems occur. The Technical Lead, Infrastructure will also set strategy in areas of expertise and drive decisions and collaborative actions through relationship management, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

• Collaborate with business, functional, solution and service partners to clearly understand current and future requirements
• Use standard IT processes to create, communicate and ratify architecture plans and roadmaps that satisfy short and long term business requirements.
• Leverage business, technical, and industry knowledge and expertise to recommend, select, and design optimal solutions for Celestica.
• Apply influence and expertise to guide decisions, and drive team actions to deliver strategic solutions in accordance with plans and roadmaps.
• Provide technical expertise and assistance to support existing solutions, and respond to incidents and problems when they occur.
• Establish and contribute thought leadership to discussions that continuously improve IT solutions & services, and ultimately support Celestica's business operations.
  
  

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

• Knowledge of programming languages (C++, Java, etc.).
• Good knowledge of database design and data analysis.
• Extensive knowledge of network and server systems design
• Strong understanding of system architecture.
• Ability to perform software and hardware evaluation and selection.
• Strong business writing skills.
• Excellent analytical, communication, presentation and problem resolution skills.
• Strong team leadership ability.

Physical Demands

Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.

Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Typical Experience

7 to 10 years of relevant IT experience that shows consistent progression, and at least 5 years of solution or process leadership.

Typical Education

Bachelor's Degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
