AI Web Developer

Overview

Role Overview
We are looking for an AI‑first Web Developer who can build complete websites end‑to‑end, with WordPress as the primary platform. You will use Claude Code and other AI coding tools (Cursor, Codex, Lovable, Copilot, etc.) in your daily workflow to handle frontend, backend, themes, plugins, integrations, and testing.

Key Responsibilities
-Build and maintain full WordPress websites – setup, frontend, backend, launch.
-Develop and customise themes, child themes, templates, hooks, filters, and small plugins.
-Use Claude Code + other AI tools to generate, refactor, and debug PHP, JS, and CSS, and to run AI‑assisted code reviews and performance checks.
-Create and maintain reusable AI agents/workflows that speed up development and testing.
-Ensure responsive UI and cross‑browser compatibility for all pages.
-Optimise speed and Core Web Vitals with caching (e.g., WP Rocket), image optimisation and CDN.
-Implement security best practices using plugins and hardening (Wordfence, iThemes, CAPTCHA, honeypots, basic rules).
-Set up and troubleshoot Mailgun / SMTP for reliable form and system emails.
-Apply SEO‑friendly on‑page structure using Yoast SEO or RankMath.
-Occasionally work on other platforms like Shopify, Wix, Squarespace when required.

Required Skills
-Strong practical skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
-Working on local projects in Claude Code (desktop or VS Code extension).
-Generating/refactoring code across multiple files.
-Using agents/skills for reviews, debugging, and performance checks.
-Practical use of at least one more AI coding tool (Cursor, Codex, Lovable, Copilot, etc.) in real projects.
-Basic knowledge of MySQL, Git, WordPress security, and deployments (staging → production).
-Ability to own projects end‑to‑end with a problem‑solving and accountability mindset.

Mandatory: Real experience using Claude Code (not just Chat) for web or WordPress projects
