Your Role And Responsibilities
As an Application Developer specializing in Application Modernization, you will transform legacy applications into modern, scalable, and cloud-ready solutions, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and business objectives. This role involves hands-on development using contemporary technologies and frameworks. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Develop and Refactor Applications: Develop and refactor applications using modern programming languages such as Java, .NET, Python, Node.js, and JavaScript, to meet business requirements and align with architectural standards.
- Implement Microservices Architectures: Implement microservices architectures and containerized solutions using Docker and Kubernetes to enable seamless integration across systems.
- Integrate with Cloud Platforms: Integrate applications with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, and Google Cloud to support scalability and modernization.
- Apply DevOps Practices: Apply DevOps practices and tooling to support continuous integration, delivery, and monitoring, ensuring efficient and reliable solution delivery.
- Collaborate with Architects: Collaborate with architects and consultants to execute modernization strategies and ensure technical feasibility, driving solution delivery and meeting business objectives.

- Modern Programming Languages: Experience with modern programming languages such as Java, .NET, Python, Node.js, and JavaScript, including hands-on development and refactoring of applications.
- Microservices and Containerization: Exposure to implementing microservices architectures and containerized solutions using Docker and Kubernetes to enable seamless integration across systems.
- Cloud Platform Integration: Experience with integrating applications with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, and Google Cloud to support scalability and modernization.
- DevOps Practices and Tooling: Exposure to applying DevOps practices and tooling to support continuous integration, delivery, and monitoring, ensuring efficient and reliable solution delivery.
- Database Solution Design: Experience with designing and implementing secure, scalable, and maintainable database solutions to support application modernization.
- Generative AI Capabilities: Exposure to incorporating generative AI capabilities (Watson, Azure OpenAI, Bedrock, Vertex AI) into application workflows to enhance modernization strategies.
- Legacy Code Migration: Experience with migrating legacy codebases (e.g., COBOL, RPG, C++) to modern platforms and languages, enabling seamless integration and scalability.
- RESTful API Development: Exposure to building and consuming RESTful APIs and OpenAPI specifications to facilitate integration across systems.
