Associate Azure Devops Engineer

Overview

We are looking for a motivated Associate Azure DevOps Engineer who is keen to build hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and automation. This role is well-suited for someone at the early stage of their DevOps career who is curious, proactive, and excited to work on real-world systems. You will work closely with senior DevOps engineers and gain exposure to Azure cloud services, Azure DevOps, Terraform, scripting, and modern deployment practices while supporting ongoing projects and releases.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing Azure cloud resources including compute, storage, networking, and identity access.
• Support the setup and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Work with Git repositories and follow standard branching and version control practices.
• Help automate infrastructure and deployments using Terraform.
• Write and maintain basic automation scripts using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Support container-based workflows using Docker (basic usage).
• Monitor applications and infrastructure using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures, deployment issues, and basic infrastructure problems.
• Document configurations, processes, and learnings for internal reference.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams during releases and deployments.

Top Non-Negotiable Skills

• Azure Basics: Understanding of core Azure services (compute, storage, networking, IAM) and how cloud resources are managed.
• Azure DevOps: Familiarity with Azure DevOps tools such as Repos and Pipelines, and a basic understanding of CI/CD flow.
• CI/CD Concepts: Clear understanding of build, test, and deployment pipelines.
• Git & Version Control: Hands-on experience with Git, including commits, branches, pull requests, and collaboration workflows.
• Terraform (Basics): Ability to read and make simple changes to Terraform configurations; understanding of Infrastructure as Code concepts.
• Scripting: Basic scripting skills using Python and/or PowerShell to automate routine tasks.
• Linux Fundamentals: Comfortable using basic Linux commands, navigating file systems, and troubleshooting simple issues.
• Docker (Basics): Understanding of containers, images, and how Docker is used in deployments.
• Monitoring Awareness: Basic knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor or Log Analytics.
• Problem Solving: Ability to analyze issues logically and work towards solutions with guidance.
• Communication: Clear communication skills for coordination, issue reporting, and documentation.
• Ownership & Learning Mindset: Willingness to take responsibility, learn continuously, and follow tasks through to completion

Negotiable Skills

• Internship or prior experience working with Azure or DevOps tools.
• Basic exposure to Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, or cloud security concepts.
• Azure, Cloud, or DevOps-related certifications or coursework.

Qualification/ Education:

• Freshers from reputed colleges with a degree in Computer Science. Engineering, or related fields.
