About The Job
The Red Hat Sales Cloud team is looking for an Associate Application Engineer to support the growth and development of our new Salesforce Lightning instance. In this role, you will assist in designing, developing, and implementing customized solutions on the Salesforce platform. You will have the opportunity to learn and apply your technical skills while collaborating with experienced team members. This position is ideal for recent graduates or individuals with some internship experience who are eager to grow their expertise in Salesforce and application development.

What You Will Do
- Assist in the design, development, and implementation of Salesforce CPQ solutions, including product configuration, pricing rules, and quote generation.
- Learn to identify when to use Declarative (Flow, Approval Processes, Validation Rules, etc.) versus programmatic (Apex Classes, Apex Triggers, Lightning Web Components) Salesforce solutions.
- Support the development and deployment of enterprise applications using best practices, including source code management and unit testing.
- Gain experience with RESTful and SOAP web services, including Salesforce APIs, to support integrations with third-party applications and enterprise systems.
- Help customize and configure Salesforce CPQ to meet basic pricing and product catalog requirements.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand business needs and assist in translating them into technical requirements.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation for Salesforce CPQ solutions, including data models and workflows.
- Work closely with other teams, including Salesforce administrators and developers, to support end-to-end solutions.
- Up to 2 years of experience in software development or related field, with a focus on Salesforce technologies preferred.
- Basic understanding of Apex, Visualforce, SOQL, and Salesforce Lightning (LWC) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Salesforce CPQ configuration and product catalog management is desirable.
- Exposure to integration tools and third-party APIs (REST, SOAP) is a plus.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and GitHub is beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn in a team environment.
- Salesforce certifications, such as Salesforce Administrator or Platform Developer I, are a plus but not required.
- Basic knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, and modern web development frameworks is a plus.
