Automation Tester (225-613)

Job Description

An Automation Tester plays an integral role in a software development team, ensuring that applications meet quality standards through rigorous automated testing procedures. This role involves designing, creating, executing, and managing automated test scripts using various testing tools and frameworks. An Automation Tester works closely with software developers, project managers, and quality assurance analysts to deliver high-quality software products. Given the rapidly evolving nature of software development, an Automation Tester must be adaptable, staying up-to-date with the latest testing tools and methodologies. Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail are crucial in identifying potential issues early in the software development lifecycle. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts for software applications.
• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to understand software requirements and design test strategies.
• Execute automated tests to identify functional and performance issues in software products.
• Analyze test results and report defects and issues to the development team promptly.
• Continuously enhance test automation frameworks to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
• Integrate automated tests into the software development lifecycle and CI/CD pipelines.
• Work closely with manual testers to identify areas for test automation improvement.
• Document and communicate testing progress, results, and issues with team members and stakeholders.
• Conduct peer reviews of test scripts and provide constructive feedback to improve quality.
• Monitor and maintain automated test environments for reliability and accuracy.
• Stay informed of emerging trends in automation testing technology and methodologies.
• Participate in training and mentoring junior team members on automation testing practices.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in software testing and test automation development.
• Proficiency with testing tools such as Selenium, QTP, or similar frameworks.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and testing methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with programming languages like Java, Python, or C# for scripting.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Travis CI, or similar platforms.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills for documenting and reporting test results.
