While most companies want you to focus on a single stack, we need you to consolidate and optimize multiple stacks without causing disruption. Instead of isolating databases, we strategically consolidate them to enhance cost and management efficiency across our portfolio. This isn't a role for someone who wants to babysit existing infrastructure; it's for a visionary who sees a fragmented environment and immediately begins designing a superior alternative.

You'll be in charge of everything from infrastructure migrations to AI-driven automation, performance tuning, database migration, and cost optimization. This means diagnosing and fixing broken systems, planning and executing seamless cloud migrations with minimal downtime, and automating a significant portion of your role with AI/ML-driven workflows. You'll have genuine authority to make infrastructure decisions, without waiting for approvals from those who may not fully grasp the technical intricacies.

What You Will Be Doing

• Strategically planning and executing intricate infrastructure changes, including migrating from legacy systems to AWS cloud infrastructure and executing lift-and-shift migrations.
• Crafting monitoring strategies and developing automations for monitoring, software deployments, and operational workflows.
• Engaging in system monitoring, system backups, incident response, database migrations, database configurations, and cost optimization efforts.

• Enhance reliability and standardization of cloud infrastructure across our expanding product portfolio by implementing effective monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.
  
  

Basic Requirements

• Comprehensive expertise in AWS infrastructure (as this is our primary platform - experience with other clouds alone isn't sufficient).
• Proficiency in programming with Python or JavaScript for developing automation and tooling.
• Experience in managing and migrating production databases with various engines (including MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL).
• Advanced skills in Docker/Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation).
• Proficient Linux systems administration capabilities.

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $50 USD/hour, which equates to $100,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
