Job Description:
NCSi is seeking a skilled AWS Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and building robust data pipelines, developing data integration processes, and optimizing database performance in cloud environments. You will work collaboratively with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and accessibility across the organization. Your role will also involve implementing best practices in data governance and security, as well as leveraging AWS services to support data analytics and reporting needs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using AWS services such as AWS Glue, Amazon Redshift, and Amazon S3
- Collaborate with data scientists and other team members to gather requirements and create data solutions that meet business needs
- Optimize databases and data processing workflows for performance and efficiency
- Implement data governance and security protocols
- Troubleshoot and resolve data issues quickly and effectively
- Monitor and optimize cloud expenditures related to data storage and processing
- Stay updated with the latest AWS features and data engineering best practices

Skills and Tools Required:
- Proficiency in AWS services, specifically AWS Glue, Amazon Redshift, Amazon S3, and AWS Lambda
- Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
- Experience with data modeling and data warehousing concepts
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
- Understanding of data governance and security best practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Experience in working with large datasets and big data technologies (e.g., Amazon EMR, Apache Spark)
- AWS Certified Data Analytics or Big Data certification is a plus
