Backend AI Engineer (Min 2 YOE)

Overview

The Role
You'll work directly with the founding team designing and shipping backend systems and AI-powered workflows for enterprise clients and our internal AI platform. This is a high-ownership role, you own modules end-to-end, not tickets. Expect real problems, fast cycles, and work that actually ships.

What You'll Do

• Design and build agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph, and the Anthropic/Claude API
• Develop and maintain backend services in TypeScript and Python
• Integrate AI capabilities into client-facing enterprise products across industries
• Collaborate with the founding team on core architecture and feature roadmap
• Contribute to prompt engineering standards, evaluation frameworks, and internal tooling
• Participate in technical reviews and help define engineering practices as the team grows

Must-Have

• 2+ years of hands-on backend engineering experience in production environments
• Strong logic and problem-solving instincts
• Proficiency in TypeScript with Node.js (NestJS or Express)
• Working knowledge of Python for AI/ML tooling and scripting
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and Redis in production
• Exposure to LangChain or LangGraph for building agent pipelines
• Familiarity with Claude API / Anthropic stack or equivalent LLM APIs
• Comfort with REST APIs, microservices patterns, and production debugging

Good to Have

• Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) or multi-agent orchestration
• Familiarity with message queues - BullMQ, RabbitMQ, or Kafka
• Vector database exposure - Pinecone, pgvector, ChromaDB, or similar
• Basic DevOps/cloud familiarity - Docker, AWS/GCP, CI/CD pipelines
• Prior exposure to enterprise software delivery in regulated industries
