Position Overview

• Role: Backend Software Engineer
• Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka (Hybrid)
• Experience: Upto 3 years
• Compensation: 8-10 LPA

We’re looking for a Backend Software Engineer with strong fundamentals, ownership mindset, and a passion for clean architecture. If you love designing scalable APIs, working across cloud infrastructure, and want your code to impact how thousands of professionals learn and grow, this role is for you.

Must-Have Requirements

Mindset

Technical Skills

• Proficient in JavaScript and TypeScript
• Strong backend development experience with Node.js and NestJS
• Solid understanding of Relational Databases, preferably PostgreSQL
• Experience with ORMs, ideally Prisma
• Deep knowledge of REST API design – versioning, documentation, and best practices
• Clear understanding of authentication & authorization strategies
• Experience writing unit and end-to-end (e2e) tests
• Familiarity with logging, debugging, and CI/CD pipelines

Good to Have

• Familiarity with AWS compute services
• Knowledge of Docker, task queues, and serverless architectures
• Awareness of observability tools
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies (e.g., React) to support integration

Key Responsibilities

Core Engineering

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and REST APIs that power our LXP and analytics platforms
• Own API versioning, deployment, and integration across microservices
• Write clean, modular, and well-tested code using TypeScript and NestJS
• Implement best practices for security, logging, performance, and scalability
• Collaborate with product designers, data engineers, and frontend developers
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and system design

Platform & DevOps

• Contribute to CI/CD workflows to ensure smooth deployments
• Build and maintain observability and alerting systems for backend services
• Work with cloud-native services for compute, storage, and containerization

Strategic Contributions

• Be part of technical discussions to shape our learning platform’s backend architecture
• Collaborate with the founding team to build scalable systems that support rapid learner growth
• Participate in product roadmap discussions and help scope backend feasibility
