BI Data Modelling Engineer

Overview

• Deliver data models of varying complexity.
• Build LookML and Airflow models (views, explores, joins, dimensions, measures).
• Contribute to data warehouse architecture (fact/dimensional modelling).
  
  

• Support and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for Redshift/Postgres.
• Monitor and optimize BI pipelines and infrastructure.
• Manage integration and migration of new data sources.
  
  

• Maintain LookML/Airflow codebase and documentation in Git.
• Work with analysts to enhance BI and analytics capabilities.
• Contribute to data governance (classification, retention, usage, destruction).
• Produce clean, structured code and documentation.
  
  

• Support BAU tasks: troubleshooting, monitoring, data validation.
• Maintain SQL Server jobs, SSIS packages, and stored procedures.
• Identify and resolve data quality issues.
• Diagnose and fix performance problems.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Strong Git experience.
• Advanced SQL skills (Redshift, Postgres).
• Familiarity with BI tools: Looker, Power BI.
• Understanding of data, master data, and metadata standards.
  
  

• Experience with Python and Airflow.
• AWS knowledge.
• Strong communication skills for business and technical audiences.
• Ability to translate business needs into BI/reporting requirements.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance-diagnosis skills.
