Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Software Engineer, with a passion for coding and keeping up with the latest in software development and technology, to build data driven, scalable, and secure applications and tools at Gartner. The individual will be part of a scrum team and will be responsible for design, development, and delivery of Web Applications, Microservices supporting you will do :

You Will Be Working As Part Of a Team Integrating Multiple Platforms And Technologies To Deliver Custom Solutions That Focus On Increasing Engagement And Maximizing The Value Gartner Provides To Its Clients. This Includes Working Closely With Business, Product Owners, Data Scientists And Machine Learning You Will Need

• Proficiency in Python, Python backend services : APIs, deployment and scaling
• Python FastAPI and asynchronous programing
• 6 + years of experience with building applications with Java, Spring-boot or similar frameworks.
• Strong hands on Experience with AWS Core such as S3, CloudFront, API Gateway, Websockets, SQS, SNS, Elastic cache / Redis, Lambda, Kinesis etc.
• Strong understanding of Java concurrency, concurrency patterns, experience building thread safe code, building highly performant code.
• Advanced Knowledge of development methodologies, standards, and object-oriented design patterns
• Experience working with Search Engine, Apache Solr or Elastic Search or equivalent.
• Experience working with Postgres, or Oracle or equivalent enterprise RDBMS system.
• Solid understanding of Test-Driven Development, JUnit, Maven, Repository Management (Git)

• Good combination of technical and interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication, detail-oriented with the ability to work independently
• Owner mindset - identify, communicate, and act on issues and initiatives in an organized and timely manner
• A passion for engineering, learning, and teamwork is a must!
• Support in IST time. So, need a quick learner who can learn and provide support for our components in IST time.
• Ready to learn new technologies. This will be needed as our team uses a wide array of technologies and tools.
• Self-motivated and professional - Our team is US based, has limited overlap with IST hours and does not believe in micromanagement hence need someone who is self-motivated, completes assigned tasks without follow-ups and can navigate through challenges with minimal help.
• Working hours : - Available till 1 / 1 :30 Noon EST. At least 4 hours of EST overlap.
• After fully onboarded, candidate should need minimal help from EST team to complete assigned tasks / initiatives.
• Must participate in solutioning and be proactive in communication
• Must be able to pick tasks (JIRA stories) proactively and be involved in the team.
