Business Analyst

We are looking for a skilled Business Analyst with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our team. Candidates with a background in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) will be preferred. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business users and technical teams to deliver data-driven, location-intelligent solutions. You will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze processes, and support the delivery of geospatial tools and business intelligence applications.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, GIS, Computer Science, Geography, or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a GIS or data-driven environment.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum project environments.
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in GIS and its application in business processes and decision-making.
• Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Proficient in creating Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS), Software Requirement Specifications (SRS), cost & effort estimations.
• Skilled in writing user stories and creating workflow diagrams.
• High proficiency in technical writing and documentation.
• Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
• Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong presentation, exploration, and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, JIRA, Confluence, Visio, and data visualization tools.
• Familiarity with geospatial concepts and GIS platforms such as ArcGIS, QGIS is an added advantage.
• Understanding of spatial data formats like Shapefiles, GeoJSON, and KML is an added advantage.

Responsibilities:

• Elicit and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements from stakeholders.
• Translate business needs into clear user stories, workflows, wireframes, and specifications.
• Analyze business processes, especially those involving spatial components, and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with GIS analysts, developers, and solution architects to ensure proposed solutions align with business objectives.
• Conduct gap analysis, risk assessment, and feasibility studies for new GIS-enabled solutions.
• Support data integration and analysis involving geospatial datasets, layers, and tools.
• Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validate that the delivered solution meets business expectations.
• Prepare project documentation, reports, presentations, and training materials.
• Stay current with GIS trends, technologies, and business analysis best practices.
