Overview

Job Summary

Synechron is seeking a capable and detail-oriented Business Analyst to support the Analytics Technology team responsible for Business As Usual (BAU) operations and maintenance of non-critical analytical tools. This role is essential in ensuring smooth ongoing support, minor enhancements, and operational stability of key analytics applications. The ideal candidate will possess a solid technical foundation, including experience with web technologies, databases, and cloud platforms, to facilitate effective troubleshooting, support, and system management, ultimately contributing to operational efficiency and business continuity.

Software Requirements

Required:

  • Proficiency in C# for application support and minor development tasks.
  • Experience working with Windows and Linux operating environments.
  • Knowledge of Web Technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React or similar.
  • Strong SQL expertise, particularly with SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with AWS Cloud Platforms and related cloud services.
  • Ability to use development and support tools relevant to enterprise environments.

Preferred:

  • Exposure to other scripting languages or development frameworks.
  • Experience with automation tools, patching, and upgrade procedures.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Overall Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing operational support and troubleshooting for BAU analytics tools and platforms, resolving user issues and system errors efficiently.
  • Assist in maintaining, supporting, and enhancing non-critical applications and systems.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot issues and implement small improvements or fixes.
  • Document system configurations, resolutions, and issue modifications to ensure knowledge transfer and continuity.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand operational needs and translate these into technical actions or support requests.
  • Perform tasks such as patching, upgrades, user support, and incident management.
  • Support deployment, configuration, and management activities in cloud environments, primarily AWS, ensuring operational stability and efficiency.

Technical Skills (By Category)

Programming Languages:

  • Essential: C#
  • Preferred: Basic scripting skills in PowerShell or Python for automation

Web Technologies:

  • Essential: JavaScript, TypeScript, React
  • Preferred: Familiarity with web frameworks and UI/UX best practices

Databases/Data Management:

  • Essential: SQL, SQL Server
  • Preferred: NoSQL databases or cloud data storage solutions

Cloud Technologies:

  • Essential: Basic understanding of AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, RDS)
  • Preferred: Experience with cloud deployment, cost optimization, and security best practices

Frameworks and Libraries:

  • Knowledge of support and development frameworks relevant to C# and web tech stacks

Development Tools and Methodologies:

  • Version control (Git or similar)
  • Issue tracking and support tools (JIRA, ServiceNow, etc.)
  • Familiarity with SDLC, support ticketing, and change management processes

Security Protocols:

  • Awareness of data security, access control, and compliance best practices within cloud environments

Experience Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in supporting enterprise applications, preferably in analytics or BI tools.
  • Experience maintaining and supporting non-critical or legacy systems within a business environment.
  • Hands-on experience with application troubleshooting, system support, or system administration.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or similar cloud providers.
  • Past exposure to web applications, databases, and operating systems.

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Respond to incident and support requests from users, diagnosing and resolving issues promptly.
  • Assist in routine system patches, upgrades, and configuration changes.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve platform or system problems.
  • Maintain detailed documentation on system configurations, issues, and resolutions.
  • Perform minor system or application enhancements following stakeholder needs.
  • Support deployment and configuration activities in AWS cloud environments.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss ongoing issues, upcoming upgrades, and support priorities.
  • Escalate complex issues to higher support or development teams as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Technology Associate) are advantageous.
  • Experience supporting enterprise software, especially analytics, BI, or similar tools.
  • Good understanding of cloud operations and support best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in collaborative environments.
