The Role: Business Analyst II/ Release Functional Manager (Adobe Experience Manager – AEM), Business Systems & Business Analysis

The Team: The Corporate platforms team is an enterprise-shared service enabling for the strategic evolution of platforms, capabilities, frameworks, operational processes, management, and improvements of the Business Applications that drive S&P Global. Our Enterprise Marketing team is responsible for the architecture, planning, design, development, and implementation of the Content Management System (CMS) platform for the organization-wide needs, leveraging Adobe Marketing Cloud. As a Business Analyst and release functional manager, you will be responsible for driving technology projects and delivering project outcomes negotiated with the business owners and product managers and end-to-end release management of AEM platforms supporting large-scale, customer-facing websites.

The Impact: We are seeking a talented Business Analyst with a strong technical background in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) to join our dynamic team. You will work alongside Enterprise Marketing Scrum team members to create solutions with intelligence and a customer-focused (client-first) mindset. You will use your technical project management skills and experience to help improve our cross-divisional website using Adobe (CMS) platform in coordinating with project teams. You will be involved in strategic planning and execution that will include working in all areas of Digital platforms like website management for suggesting innovative solutions in existing and new enterprise systems with long-term value.

  • Lead projects from start to finish in a Scaled Agile environment within Digital Technology Services, utilizing your technical expertise within Digital Solutions.
  • Collaborate with global teams to deliver key features for Enterprise platforms with an Agile team of in-house technical professionals from around the world.
  • Bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution by delivering fully integrated solutions that support desired end-states across enterprise-level products.
  • Solve complex business problems by designing practical, scalable solutions to deliver high-quality software.
  • Play a pivotal role in enabling seamless release management for enterprise-scale digital experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical delivery on Enterprise Marketing team(s) and projects using agile methodologies i.e. Scrum/SAFe.
  • Act as a bridge between Business, Engineering, and Users to champion best practices and help the development team in improving the delivery methods to create high-value products.
  • Gather business requirements, translate them into clear user stories with acceptance criteria in Azure DevOps, and build scalable solutions in AEM.
  • Work closely with Solution or Release Train Engineer (STE/RTE), peer Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers and Architects to maximize efficiencies from Scaled Agile practices and ensure alignment and collaboration across the Agile Release Train (ART).
  • Lead and facilitate Scrum and SAFe ceremonies, including daily scrums, iteration planning, demos, retrospectives, grooming sessions, PI planning, system demos, and Inspect and Adapt workshops.
  • Own and manage the release calendar, aligning AEM release schedules with business priorities and sprint cadence.
  • Coordinate end-to-end release planning, execution, and monitoring, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Own and continually improve the AEM release process by documenting release issues and developing plans to improve processes or automation/release tracking in close partnership with RTE/STE.
  • Partner with product owners, developers, QA, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable, timely, and high-quality AEM releases that empower global marketing and content operations.
  • Lead release readiness reviews, go/no-go meetings, change management process, CAB documentation, and retrospectives, driving continuous improvement and governance across release cycles to enhance speed, quality, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with PO from cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications for Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) implementations i.e. well-defined features and user stories ensuring clarity and alignment with the PI planning feature delivery goals.
  • Partner with DevOps and Engineering teams to optimize CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and rollback strategies for AEM environments.
  • Conduct workshops and gather requirements from stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, acceptance criteria and deliverables keeping in mind results-driven focus on meeting user needs.
  • Collaborate with scrum teams to plan, prioritize, and deliver solutions in alignment with Agile delivery schedules.
  • Create, analyze, and validate business requirements, translating them into detailed functional requirements and user stories, and defining acceptance criteria. This includes creating user stories, defining dependencies, impact, and acceptance criteria, and obtaining requirements sign-off from requesting business partners.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on AEM best practices, capabilities, and limitations to guide decision-making, problem-solving and help guide the design and solution implementation.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including functional/non-functional specifications, designs, user guides, maintaining sprint cycle commitments, handoffs, backlog prioritization, and supporting the feature intake process.
  • Analyze and document current business processes, identify areas for improvement, and propose solutions leveraging AEM capabilities.
  • Design, develop, and implement AEM custom solutions that align with business goals and objectives, ensuring optimal user experience and content management capabilities.
  • Facilitate workshops with business analysts to define project scope, objectives, acceptance criteria and deliverables keeping in mind results-driven focus on user needs and conducting sprint demos.
  • Work closely with developers and IT teams to configure, customize, and integrate AEM components, workflows, templates and resolve their problems.
  • The BA must maintain a high level of attention to detail, be self-motivated, be open to adjusting priorities based on stakeholder feedback, and work in a continuously changing environment.
  • Manage risks, mitigate impediments and blocking issues to the team’s progress, and negotiate dependencies within and across teams.
  • Monitor and report on team progress, sprint goals, and performance metrics (e.g., velocity, burn-down charts).
  • Create and manage deliverables, milestones, and risks including detailed documentation, sprint cycle commitments, handoffs, backlog prioritization, and supporting the feature intake process.
  • Contribute to building a high-performing team by fostering continuous improvement, resolving conflicts, promoting a culture of feedback loops, retrospectives, and innovation, and ensuring a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and cross-functionally, maintain a high level of attention to detail, be self-motivated, adjust priorities based on stakeholder feedback, and thrive in high-pressure, continuously changing environments.
  • Analyze business processes, identify improvement areas, propose solutions, and stay updated on technology/best practices to support change management for new or functional enhancements.
  • Lead & Coordinate with QA, UAT and Go-Live Activities ensuring successful and timely implementation of solutions. Ensure regression testing, and performance testing are integrated into the release process.
  • Establish and enforce release governance, standards, and best practices for AEM release cycles.
  • Encourage a continuous learning environment to strengthen the team's understanding of Agile/SAFe principles, support new practices, and adapt priorities based on stakeholder feedback.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to junior team members and new Scrum Masters.

Basic Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, or experience, with an understanding of the financial services industry.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience as a business analyst working in a software development environment in an agile environment or SAFe framework is a must.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst with hands-on experience on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) tool using Agile and release management process is a must.
  • Expertise in Agile Project Management tools like Azure DevOps (ADO), Kendis.
  • Strong understanding of AEM architecture, components, capabilities, managing/publishing process, and designs wireframes using Figma/Adobe XD.
  • Proficiency in AEM tools such as Adobe Experience Manager Forms, Adobe Target, and Adobe Analytics.
  • Experience in AEM Sites, AEM Assets, AEM Form, Brand Portal Setup, and Dynamic Media.
  • In-depth knowledge and passion for Scrum/SAFe methodologies and best practices including, Agile metrics and reporting techniques.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects from start to finish with strong sense of ownership and accountability demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, effectively interacting with others.
  • Demonstrated success in AEM release coordination and governance.
  • Deep understanding of Agile/SAFe methodology, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud deployment models.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead distributed teams and manage multiple releases in parallel.
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects in fast-paced, dynamic environments with competing priorities within large global teams, while driving team performance through superb organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Skilled in nurturing self-organizing, high-performing teams via servant leadership, individual coaching, and mentoring.
  • Attention to detail and proven effectiveness in driving team performance.
  • Certifications: Adobe Experience Manager Business Practitioner (Required); SAFe Scrum Master (SCM) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or Professional Scrum Master™ (PSM) is a must.
  • Open to working flexible hours as per business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive hands-on experience using Adobe Experience Manager (CMS) and General Marketing Website Design.
  • Proficiency in AEM Sites, AEM Assets, AEM Form, AEM tools such as Adobe Experience Manager Forms, Adobe Target, and Adobe Analytics is a plus.
  • Exposure to SAFe Agile Framework is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of AEM applications using AEM Components and Templates, Workflows, Taxonomy, Metadata Management, Content Authoring, and Publishing Pages, Tagging, Designs wireframes using Figma/Adobe XD, etc.
  • Technical knowledge of marketing technologies and digital marketing channels is a plus.
