Overview
What You'll Do
You will be reporting to the VP of Customer Experience. You will be working from the Pune office in a hybrid model.
This is a highly visible, and high impact role to have invaluable cross-functional exposure by engaging with executives and cross-functional leaders, offering insights into the inner workings of Avalara's leadership. This role is instrumental in helping Avalara achieve its strategic goals. You will get exposure to all areas of the business.
Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering: You will be required to collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document detailed requirements. You will conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to gather information from various sources.
Analysis and Documentation: Analyze and document current state processes, systems, and workflows. Develop clear and concise business requirements, user stories, process flows, and other documentation as needed. Ensure that requirements are aligned with business goals and objectives.
Data Analysis: Perform data analysis to support business needs, including data mapping, validation, and cleansing. Collaborate with data architects and database developers to design effective data solutions.
Communication: Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and the project team. Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences. Craft materials for executive leadership reporting.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose effective solutions. Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
Project Management: Assist in project planning, monitoring, and tracking to ensure timely and successful project delivery. Collaborate with project managers, developers, and other team members to achieve project objectives.

What You'll Need to be Successful
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Customer Experience or Customer Operations experience within a SaaS business preferred.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role.
- Robust analytical and quantitative skills, as well as attention to detail
- Dynamic communication skills, relationship building, strong decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with project management concepts and practices.
- Experience in data analysis and modeling is a plus.
- Experience working with global teams is a plus
