Caliber Technologies - Data Test Lead - Python/SQL

Overview

The Data Test Lead will be responsible for driving the end-to-end testing strategy, quality assurance processes, and validation activities across complex data platforms, data pipelines, and analytics solutions.

• The role involves leading a team of data testers to ensure accuracy, completeness, reliability, and performance of data across ETL/ELT workflows, data warehouses, data lakes, and reporting systems.
• The candidate will collaborate closely with data engineers, solution architects, business analysts, and product owners to understand data requirements, source-to-target mappings, transformation logic, and downstream consumption needs.
• They will design and execute comprehensive test plans, develop reusable test scripts, perform data profiling, validate transformation rules, and conduct regression, functional, and performance testing for large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• The Data Test Lead will also ensure robust data quality frameworks, implement automation using tools like Python, SQL, PySpark, Selenium, or specialized data testing platforms, and lead defect triage, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• The role requires strong expertise in SQL, big data ecosystems (Hadoop, Spark, Hive), ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, DataStage, Azure Data Factory), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• They will maintain documentation related to test cases, data validation rules, and test reports while ensuring compliance with governance, security, and regulatory standards.
• The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of mentoring teams while managing timelines, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
• They must stay updated with emerging data technologies, testing frameworks, and automation techniques to enhance the overall quality and efficiency of the data delivery process
