Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced AWS SME to provide expert-level support, governance, and optimization of AWS environments within a Managed Services framework. The role requires balancing proactive improvements, automation, and best practices while ensuring SLA-driven operations, security, compliance, and cost efficiency for enterprise customers.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the AWS Subject Matter Expert within the Managed Services team for operations, escalations, and customer advisory.
Provide L3/L4 support for complex AWS-related incidents, problems, and changes.
Ensure adherence to SLAs, compliance frameworks, and security baselines in all AWS-managed environments.
Manage day-to-day AWS operations including monitoring, patching, backups, DR, and performance tuning.
Perform Well-Architected Reviews and recommend improvements for security, cost, and reliability.
Automate routine tasks (provisioning, monitoring, reporting) using IaC and scripting tools.
Drive FinOps practices for cost optimization and budget governance across accounts/projects.
Support customer onboarding to Managed Services (migrations, handovers, standardization).
Collaborate with Linux, Windows, Network, and Security SMEs to deliver integrated managed services.
Contribute to service improvement plans (SIPs) and continual service improvement (CSI) initiatives.
Prepare dashboards, reports, and compliance evidence for customer reviews and audits.
Mentor and guide L1/L2 engineers, upskilling them on AWS operations and troubleshooting.
Required Skills & Qualifications
8–12 years of IT experience with at least 5+ years in AWS cloud operations & architecture.
Deep expertise in AWS services (EC2, VPC, ELB, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda, CloudWatch, EKS/ECS).
Strong experience in day-to-day operations for AWS-managed environments.
Hands-on with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK) and automation (Python, Ansible).
Proven knowledge of monitoring, logging, and alerting in AWS (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, ELK, Grafana).
Experience with cloud security, governance, and compliance (IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub, PCI/SOX).
Strong troubleshooting skills for multi-tier, cloud-native applications.
Exposure to cost optimization, tagging, and reporting in managed services setups.
Excellent communication and client-facing skills for escalations and service reviews.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional (mandatory for SME).
Experience with Managed Services tools (ServiceNow, Remedy, ticketing & ITIL-based frameworks).
Knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Release, and Service Continuity).
Familiarity with hybrid cloud and multi-account AWS Organizations setups.
Experience with service governance, audits, and customer-facing RCA preparation.
