Cloud Architect AWS

About this opportunity:

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Architect(AWS) to lead the architecture, automation, and evolution of enterprise-scale AWS environments. This role requires deep technical ownership, strong architectural judgment, and the ability to drive platform‑level improvements across security, cost, automation, and reliability. You will influence cloud strategy, enhance Landing Zone capabilities, and introduce intelligent automation powered by AI agents and MCP frameworks.

You will design and optimize distributed cloud architectures, build scalable automation patterns, strengthen governance, and ensure a secure, compliant, well‑engineered AWS foundation. Your work will shape high-impact engineering standards and accelerate platform evolution across Technology Foundation.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver large‑scale, highly available, and cost‑efficient AWS solutions
• Lead design and implementation of advanced serverless and event‑driven patterns using AWS Step Functions, Lambda, API Gateway, and AWS AI services
• Build and operate MCP servers and AI-driven automation workflows to enhance security, operations, and cloud optimization
• Define, implement, and maintain multi‑account security guardrails and governance controls
• Drive a security‑first posture across IAM, encryption, auditing, and Landing Zone compliance
• Lead Well‑Architected Reviews and guide remediation and platform improvements
• Develop cloud cost‑optimization strategies and implement scalable FinOps practices
• Deploy and manage Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform) including new Landing Zone rollouts
• Troubleshoot complex AWS issues, provide architectural advisory, and guide best practices
• Mentor engineers, elevate cloud engineering capability, and support knowledge-sharing
• Lead Agile ceremonies, drive continuous improvement, and coordinate cross-team technical alignment
• Design and optimize hybrid networking architectures between on‑prem and AWS
• Oversee CI/CD automation in Azure DevOps, including AI-assisted validation and deployment workflows
• Integrate AWS AI/ML capabilities (Bedrock, SageMaker, Q Developer, Q Business) into platform and product architectures

Required Skills

• Expert-level knowledge of AWS architecture, distributed systems, and enterprise-scale cloud design
• Deep understanding of multi‑account governance, Landing Zone frameworks, and cloud security models
• Strong mastery of IAM, cross‑account roles, federation, and least‑privilege enforcement
• Advanced proficiency with serverless and event-driven architecture principles
• Strong Infrastructure‑as‑Code expertise (CloudFormation, Terraform) including modular design
• Solid understanding of hybrid networking, routing, and secure connectivity patterns
• Proven experience leading CI/CD practices in cloud environments and optimizing DevOps workflows
• Strong expertise in automation, including AI agents, MCP integration, or similar intelligent automation systems
• Hands-on experience with AWS AI/ML services and ability to apply them in cloud engineering domains
• Demonstrated ability to lead strategy and corrective actions following Well‑Architected Reviews
• Strong analytical skills for performance tuning, cost optimization, and architectural tradeoff decisions
• Proven leadership capability: mentoring engineers, guiding architectural decisions, and driving platform evolution
• Clear and influential communication skills across engineering and leadership levels

Preferred Certifications

Must hold at least two of the following:

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
• AWS Certified Security – Specialty
