The role of Cloud Engineer is an engineering and enabling role. It looks at current operational practices, develops and enhances existing practices for both BAU and Projects for the Cloud Platform. The Cloud Engineer works within the team of skilled Cloud Services engineers to implement new services, maintain existing services, and ensure that the environment runs optimally and efficiently

The role of Cloud Engineer is an engineering and enabling role. It looks at current operational practices, develops and enhances existing practices for both BAU and Projects for the Cloud Platform. The Cloud Engineer works within the team of skilled Cloud Services engineers to implement new services, maintain existing services, and ensure that the environment runs optimally and efficiently
Role Responsibilities
- Maintain and support existing services;
- Upgrade existing implementations;
- Ensure timely resolution of tickets raised by level 1/2
- Monitoring and escalating the errors to relevant levels
- Migration of VM’s from On-Premise to Cloud
- Engage with the client for smooth and timely delivery
- Monitor ESXi health promptly and isolation of performance issues
- Maintain the performance level and upkeep of the cloud infra.
- Timely restoration of client data
- 24x7 support, with rotational weekend work.
- Working within the team to develop processes to enable Automation, Orchestration, and Enhance existing services;
- Deployment of new VMs and backup as per the client requirements
- Follow ITIL process and ensure infrastructure systems are up to date.
- Be the communication bridge between and Level1 and the cloud engineering teams.
To succeed in this role, you will have the following experience and competencies.
Essential
Must have 5-9 years of experience in VMware and virtualization/ESXI.
This role requires the following Competencies and Experience;
- Excellent knowledge of VMware’s Hypervisor
- Should have experience in VM Deployment, VMigration, vSphere
- Extremely high-level attention to detail with the methodical troubleshooting process
- Independent time management skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Industry-based certification including VCP 6 or above
- Hardware knowledge on HP, Cisco servers
- Open to work in 24*5 shift environment
The following Competencies and Experience would be an advantage in this role;
- Knowledge of Veeam backup and replication
- Knowledge of Cisco UCS OR HP Blade Server G9/10
- Exp. in working with cross-cultural teams
- Experience in Commvault backup
- VCP 6.5 Certification
