About the role
Are you looking to help support the global energy transition whilst leveraging your data story-telling and project management skills? As an early member of the geographically dispersed Data Team within the Software Solutions team at Aurora, you will do exactly that by taking ownership of data dashboard strategy and execution. You will work closely with other teams at Aurora to flesh out the strategy, scope data requirements, plan development effort, QA and launch dashboards across all Aurora markets. These dashboards complement our Subscription services and Software products used by the movers, shakers and policy makers in the industry. It is an exciting opportunity to work on several aspects of the data lifecycle while supporting the larger global energy transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Working closely with key stakeholders across Aurora to develop, finesse and deliver on the dashboard strategy.
• Take end-to-end ownership of data dashboards from concept through launch and maintenance. This includes managing the roadmap, holding teams accountable, handling all stakeholder communications and liaising with users to gather feedback.
• Support design, development, and launch of Aurora dashboards to paint an up-to-date picture of regional power markets.
• Support Aurora teams with data analysis and storytelling using dashboards.
  
  

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required attributes:

• 3+ years of experience conceptualizing, designing, and building dashboards.
• 3+ years of experience with relational and/or columnar databases, strong proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and querying.
• 2+ years of project management experience, including planning, coordination, and delivery of analytics or BI-related projects.
• 1+ years of experience coding in Python, with proficiency in working with YAML and JSON for configuration and data integration tasks.
• Hands-on experience with data analytics and visualisation tools like Power BI, Tableau, and Excel​.
• Experience in energy industry or working with energy data.
• Good communication skills.
  

Desirable attributes:

• Familiarity with power models.
• Understanding of data modeling concepts, including star/snowflake schemas, normalization, and ETL pipeline
• Knowledge of version control (e.g., Git) and agile development practices.
