This role is essential for managing and optimizing information systems that support commercial excellence within the organization. The Data Analyst will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and troubleshooting systems and tools that drive data-driven decision-making. The position demands strong technical proficiency, especially in Microsoft Excel and Power BI, along with sound analytical capabilities and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Key Objectives, Responsibilities & Measures
1. System Administration
Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain software systems, databases, and applications.
Monitor system performance and implement necessary updates and patches.
Ensure security and data integrity through regular maintenance.
Performance Measures:
System Uptime: Monitor system availability and minimize downtime.
Response Time: Track and improve system speed and responsiveness for users.
2. Analytical Skills
Responsibilities:
Use Excel to conduct data analysis: sort, filter, summarize, and manipulate large datasets.
Create PivotTables, PivotCharts, and use advanced formulas (INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, etc.).
Basic VBA knowledge to automate tasks and increase efficiency.
Performance Measures:
Data Quality: Accuracy, completeness, and reliability of managed data.
Error Reduction: Monitor and minimize data inconsistencies through validation checks.
Compliance: Ensure data governance policies and standards are met.
3. Data Visualization – Power BI
Responsibilities:
Build interactive and insightful dashboards using Power BI.
Import, clean, and transform data from multiple sources.
Use DAX to perform advanced calculations and create optimized data models.
Leverage Power BI Service for sharing, publishing, and setting data refresh schedules.
Performance Measures:
Clarity and Interpretability: Visualizations should clearly communicate complex insights.
Audience Relevance: Tailor dashboards to different roles (e.g., executives, analysts).
Actionability: Drive data-informed decisions through effective visualization.
Data Integrity: Ensure visualizations reflect timely and accurate data.
4. Audit and Risk Management
Responsibilities:
Conduct routine audits to assess system integrity and identify vulnerabilities.
Maintain robust audit trail documentation and secure compliance-related records.
Promote cross-functional compliance culture and facilitate transparent communication.
Performance Measures:
Audit Monitoring Frequency: Track and report number of audits conducted within a time frame.
Risk Identification and Mitigation: Proactively highlight and reduce potential risks.
Global Remit
This role may operate:
In the analyst//'s home country
Across 2–3 countries (minimum 40% of the time)
Or potentially across 4+ countries or at a global level depending on business needs
Qualifications and Skills
Essential:
Bachelor//'s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, IT, Business Administration, BTech, or a related field.
Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, data modeling, pivoting, macros).
Proficiency in Power BI for data visualization, DAX, data modeling, and reporting.
Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
Effective verbal and written communication for presenting insights.
Desirable:
Master//'s degree in a relevant field (optional).
Background in data science or experience with projects in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
Knowledge of additional visualization tools such as Tableau, Matplotlib, Seaborn, or ggplot.
Understanding of statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
