THE OPPORTUNITY

We count on our IT team to work in close alignment with all internal business units to provide excellent IT support and solutions to our global user community. As the Data Analyst for Xactly, you will be responsible for translating operating metrics into actionable insights. You will work directly with the Business Systems Team and various departmental teams to complete data projects from start to finish. You will be responsible for building scalable solutions for the data warehouse, data pipeline, modeling, reporting and visualizations. It is critical that this person understands business intelligence as it relates to data architecture within a data warehouse. It is equally critical that this position has a strong understanding of advanced SQL and data visualization best practices.

The technology landscape is evolving, and the person in this role participates in technical research and development to enable innovation. They will ensure that best practices are taken in data governance, and related procedures adhere to the Vision of Xactly. You will also take on projects and be responsible for all phases, including definition, analysis, design, build, testing and change management. Xactly’s IT team is a tight-knit global team, looking to expand our capabilities and add efficiencies to processes. Our team’s goal is to set our internal customers up for success by providing a means to directly impact the bottom line of the business.

THE SKILL SET

• 3+ years of experience in developing BI solutions (data integration, analytics, reporting)
• Expert SQL skills. Python skills are a plus.
• Experience using a cloud based data warehouse (Snowflake) a plus
• Experience in designing BI visualization platforms (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, etc)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
• Customer service mentality, with prompt attention to support tickets
• Demonstrated ability to work on multiple parallel projects
• Ability to work cross-functionally within an organization, to understand requirements and use cases
• Experience analyzing large amounts of data from multiple systems
• High degree of personal integrity and professionalism, and can work effectively with minimal supervision in a collaborative environment
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills
• Able to adapt to a constantly changing environment
  
  

WITHIN ONE MONTH, YOU’LL

• Develop a working relationship with the assigned Xactly Business Systems team
• Work with the IT team to learn the systems we use, and policies and procedures
• Explore the data warehouse and become familiar with the existing data structure
• Become familiar with existing business systems, data models, visualizations, and use cases
  
  

WITHIN THREE MONTHS, YOU’LL

• Become comfortable with existing business systems and analytics
• Work with the Business Systems team on project planning and scope exercises
• Begin developing data visualizations from existing data sets
  
  

WITHIN SIX MONTHS, YOU’LL

• Build, validate, and publish new reporting dashboards
• Ensure best practices are in place for new and existing data use cases
• Become an expert on existing business systems, KPIs, and the roadmap for future analytics
