Overview
Job Title: Data Analytics & Business Intelligence
Location: Gurgaon
Experience: 3–5 years (Consulting / Analytics in eCommerce / D2C)
About Us
We are a fast-growing D2C fashion brand reshaping how modern fashion is designed, manufactured, and delivered. As we scale rapidly, we’re looking for a highly analytical, smart, driven, and detail-oriented individual to join Oyela as a Data Analytics & Business Intelligence Analyst to turn complex, unstructured data points into clear, actionable insights for the leadership team.
If you’ve thrived in a consulting or top-tier analytics environment and want to apply your skills in a fast-moving, high-impact startup role — this is for you.
Why This Role Matters
At our stage of growth, the right decisions come from the right data — but that data doesn’t always come neatly packaged. You’ll not only interpret trends and build forecasts, but also design the processes to capture the right data in the first place. You’ll work directly with the founder and CXO team, making your analysis central to business growth, cost control, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Build & Own the Data Backbone
- Create and maintain a single source of truth for all core business metrics: sales, returns, inventory, raw materials, BOMs, and production.
- Set up automated validation checks to ensure data integrity.
- Design real-time dashboards (Power BI / Looker / Tableau etc) for quick leadership insights.
2. CXO-Ready Analysis & Reporting
- Structure and deliver monthly and quarterly MIS covering:
- Sales performance & sell-through
- Return analysis (reasons, patterns, cost impact)
- Inventory health & aging
- Transportation and logistics costs
- FOB cost, CMT cost(Cut-Make-Trim) and raw material cost tracking
- Prepare board/CXO-level packs that clearly translate data into decision points.
3. Demand Forecasting & Planning
- Build 3 month rolling forecasts combining sales data, return data and growth targets.
- Reverse-engineer SKU-level production plans based on demand and lead times
- Translate forecasts into actionable purchase orders for fabrics and other raw materials, optimising bulk buying efficiency.
4. Strategic & Operational Problem-Solving
- Partner with leadership to identify high-impact growth and efficiency opportunities.
- Model category-level profitability and product mix scenarios.
- Set up scalable data processes to answer new business questions quickly.
- Coordinate with merchandising, production, and supply chain to act on insights.
What You Bring
- 3–5 years in consulting, analytics, or strategy roles (D2C, retail, or eCommerce experience preferred).
- Expert in Excel/Google Sheets, SQL, and at least one BI tool (Power BI / Looker / Tableau).
- Strong grasp of inventory dynamics, BOMs, procurement, and demand planning.
- Comfort working in high-change, ambiguous environments — ability to structure problems and define the “what” before jumping to the “how.”
- Exceptional communication skills — able to turn raw data into a compelling narrative for senior stakeholders.
Why You’ll Love This Role
- Direct access to founders and CXO team — your work drives real business outcomes, not just reports.
- Freedom to design data processes from scratch in a growing company.
- Opportunity to own end-to-end problem-solving — from defining the question, to collecting the data, to driving the decision.
If you’re ready to move from advising to owning decisions — and want to see your analysis directly shape a high-growth brand — we’d love to talk.
