Overview
As a Data & Analytics - Solution Architect , you will define the end-to-end architecture and long-term roadmap for vidaXL’s enterprise data platforms, analytical systems, AI/ML/Data Science capabilities, and cross domain data integrations. You will ensure the Data & Analytics ecosystem is scalable, secure, governed, automation ready, and fully aligned with business strategy and future growth.You will work closely with product owners, data engineers, analysts, data scientists, enterprise architects, and architects from other business domains to deliver a consistent, high quality data foundation. This is a strategic architecture role responsible for defining the architectural vision, establishing standards, and ensuring governance, while enabling the delivery function to successfully execute that vision.
You will:
- Define the enterprise-wide Data & Analytics architecture roadmap across ingestion, transformation, storage, governance, reporting, and DataScience/AI/ML.
- Own the architecture for the GCP based data platform, including BigQuery, Cloud Functions, orchestration, and automation frameworks.
- Configure and manage data pipelines to ingest data from multiple business systems via APIs, Cloud SQL, scripts, and FTP/SFTP, leveraging foundational concepts such as medallion architecture, star schema design etc.
- Architect and define the future-state data infrastructure on GCP and BigQuery for optimized performance and scalability.
- Design scalable data models, datamarts, semantic layers, and self-service analytics foundations.
- Lead and engineer the GenAI solutions using Vertex AI, Gemini & other modern tools across the vidaXL business domains & use cases.
- Establish patterns for ELT/ETL, realtime data ingestion, event-driven architecture, and API-based data flows.
- Define architectural foundations for AI/ML, including feature engineering, ML pipelines, dataset management, and inference.
- Support adoption of Vertex AI, Gemini, and modern GenAI capabilities across domain.
- Define & Deliver Data governance & Data Ops framework across lineage, metadata & cataloging, quality, access, security, incident, monitoring management etc.
- Strengthen data governance practices by ensuring compliance with GDPR, enforcing security standards, applying data retention policies.
- Provide architectural leadership to product owners, data engineers, analysts, and data scientists.
- Conduct architecture reviews and ensure alignment with domain and enterprise architecture guidelines.
- Collaborate with architects from other domains to maintain enterprise-wide architectural consistency.
- Define platform observability, monitoring, cost management (fin ops), and performance optimization standards.
- Document architecture decisions, patterns, ADR blueprint and design standards for organization-wide adoption
You have:
- 4+ years of experience as Data Architect.
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering and modelling of datamarts, BI, Analytics, AI/ML solutions in a large scale Lakehouse architecture.
- Strong experience in building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using tools such as Apache Airflow or Cloud Composer, GCP Dataflow, Dataform etc.
- Prior experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure as a Code (IaC) tools for delivering data services is highly preferred.
- Strong experience designing enterprise-scale data solutions on cloud platforms (GCP – Highly Desirable).
- Proficiency with Looker reporting tool and designing the semantic data layer underneath it is highly desired
- Strong SQL skills and proficiency with Python.
- Experience integrating with SAP, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, e-commerce platforms, and enterprise systems.
- Knowledge of event-driven pipelines, streaming platforms, and API-based integrations.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML platforms such as Vertex AI and Gemini.
- Experience defining governance, metadata, lineage, and data quality frameworks.
- Strong understanding of GDPR, security models, and enterprise compliance.
- Ability to influence and lead engineering teams with architectural guardrails.
- Translate strategic vision into actionable initiatives as a Data Engineer and provide leadership to engineering teams.
- Strong system design, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to work across business, product, and technology teams.
- Experience working in agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
- Strategic, proactive mindset with strong collaboration and leadership abilities.
