DevOps & Data Engineers will operate within the Data Engineering department working to help the data engineering development, operations and testing teams better communicate and stay informed of each other’s work progress or updates. They also work to better understand the wants and needs of customers and build software and tools to reduce user errors and improve the customer’s overall experience.

Job Description:

• Working with our stakeholders to develop end to end Cloud based solutions with a heavy focus on applications and data.
• Collaborate with BI/BA analyst, Data scientists, Data Engineers, Dev Ops Cloud Engineers, Product Managers and other stakeholders across the organization.
• Ensure the delivery of reliable software and data pipelines using data engineering best practices, including secure automation, version control, continuous integration/delivery, proper testing.
• Ownership of the product and will significantly influence on our strategy by helping define the next wave of data insights and system architecture.
• A commitment to teamwork and excellent business and interpersonal skills are essential.
• You will be an essential part of our growing analytics and data insights team, and be responsible for our technological and architectural vision.

The Ideal Candidate:

• You have a minimum of 3+ years’ experience and hands on practical experience in data integration, Dev Ops, Engineering and technological analytics.
• You have a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics Related Discipline
• Guide teams in designing, building, testing and deploying changes to existing software
• Security: While continually updating code to make the system run faster and better, the DevOps Engineer also must make sure that the changes to improve the system don’t accidentally make the system more vulnerable to attack.
• Flexibility: The DevOps Engineer will update sections of data engineering code, as well as simultaneously managing changes to other parts of the program.
• Scripting Skills: DevOps Engineers must know how to use scripting programs such as Ruby, PHP, Pearl and Python.
• Soft Skills: A DevOps Engineer should possess interpersonal, management and decision-making skills.
• Excellent skills in; SQL, Python, distributed source control such as GIT in an Agile- Scrum environment.
• Experience with ETL pipelines and Airflow
• Has a strong understanding of dimensional modelling and data warehousing methodologies.
• Can identify ways to improve data quality And reliability.
• Can use data to discover different tasks for automation.
• Is aligned with the latest data trends and ways to simplify data insights.
• Is passionate about data and the insights that large amounts of data sets can provide
• Experience within the retail industry is a plus.
