About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer with proven expertise in Ab Initio to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and optimizing complex ETL/ELT pipelines using the Ab Initio suite of products. You will be instrumental in building robust data solutions, ensuring data quality, and contributing to our enterprise data platform within a fast-paced NBFC environment.

PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

Results-oriented Data Engineer with 5-6 years of dedicated experience in the Ab Initio suite, specializing in designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance ETL/ELT processes. Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into efficient data solutions, ensuring data integrity and reliability. Skilled in leveraging Ab Initio's capabilities for large-scale data integration, data warehousing, and data quality initiatives, preferably within the BFSI or NBFC domain.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and implement robust and scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using various components of the Ab Initio suite.
• Translate complex business requirements into efficient and effective Ab Initio graphs, plans, and technical specifications.
• Perform data profiling, data analysis, and data mapping to ensure accurate and complete data integration.
• Optimize Ab Initio jobs for performance, scalability, and resource utilization, ensuring efficient data processing.
• Develop and implement data quality rules and checks within Ab Initio to maintain high data integrity across various datasets.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex data pipeline issues, ensuring smooth operation and data flow.
• Collaborate closely with data architects, data modelers, business analysts, and other engineering teams to deliver comprehensive data solutions.
• Maintain and enhance existing Ab-Initio applications and contribute to ongoing data platform improvements.
• Adhere to coding standards, best practices, and version control procedures (e.g., EME) for Ab Initio development..
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
• Ensure proper documentation of Ab Initio solutions, including design documents, mapping specifications, and operational guides.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Ab Initio Expertise: 4-6 years of hands-on, in-depth experience with the Ab Initio suite, including:
• Ab Initio Graphical Development Environment (GDE)
• Ab Initio Co-Operating System
• Ab Initio Enterprise Meta Environment (EME)
• Ab Initio Express It (preferred)
• Strong understanding of Ab Initio commands, utilities, and best practices.
• ETL/ELT Concepts: Strong understanding of ETL/ELT methodologies and data warehousing concepts.
• SQL Proficiency: Expert-level SQL skills for querying, data manipulation, and performance tuning. Proficient in querying and validating data using SQL or similar languages.
• Database Knowledge: Experience working with various relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, DB2) and file systems as sources and targets.
• Data Warehousing/Lakes: Experience working in or with data warehouse environments like BigQuery, or GCP-based lakes.
• Scripting: Proficiency in Shell Scripting.
• Programming: Familiarity with Python, JSON, Java 8 &REST APIs is a plus.
• Debugging Skills: Strong debugging skills for complex data pipelines.

• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including business, compliance, risk, and engineering.
• Strong documentation and requirement gathering skills to align technical solutions with business objectives.
• Skilled in stakeholder management and articulating complex data integration concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Experience driving adoption of data engineering best practices.

• Prior exposure to NBFC processes (e.g., loan origination, collections, credit bureau integration) is a significant plus.
