Data Engineer - Rx Engineer | Manager

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join a critical transformation program called Rewards Transformation, that will build a new HR platform from the ground up using the latest cloud technologies. This program will build a new digital experience for our Macquarie users and your role will be to design and build the data transformation and integration patterns across our HR platforms and deliver a first-class experience to our employees globally.

What role will you play?

In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain scalable database systems in cloud environments (primarily AWS), while developing and optimizing SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting. Additionally, you will build and maintain ETL pipelines to efficiently ingest and transform data from diverse sources into data warehouses or databases.

What You Offer

• Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle), with expertise in database optimization and tuning
• Experience in building and optimizing ETL pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow or custom-built solutions
• Strong Python programming skills for automation and data manipulation
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., RDS, Redshift, S3) and familiarity with data warehousing concepts
• Nice to have: Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB), DevOps practices (e.g., CI/CD, Terraform), or AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty)
