The Purpose of the Role/The Value you Deliver

As a Data Engineer on the Fidelity Digital Assets Data and Analytics team, you'll get the opportunity to develop your skills and collaborate across Fidelity teams in a fun and dynamic environment. You will work closely with our architects to build secure, scalable solutions for operational and analytical data needs. Using AWS, Snowflake and/or on-premises services, you'll help design, implement and maintain data structures, batch jobs, interfaces to external systems and create data services. You'll be responsible for data analysis, modeling, loading and transformations. You will coordinate builds using continuous integration pipelines and prepare for deployment to AWS using containers.

The Expertise we are looking for and Skills that are key to this role

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• 3+ years of experience on design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for data ingestion, processing, and integration.
• Strong SQL knowledge and work experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, Snowflake.
• Implement and manage data workflows using AWS Step Functions, AWS Lambda, Python and Snowflake.
• Strong proficiency in Managing query execution plans & Tuning for Aurora PostgreSQL and Snowflake.
• Background in data analysis and data modeling
• Data quality mind set to build unit and integration tests, and knowledge of techniques to ensure data quality
• Ability to build reliable software that can withstand unreliable environments
• Experience building and deploying applications using continuous integration pipelines and automated deployment tools such as Liquibase, Jenkins, etc.
• Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
• Familiarity with Java technologies and REST services
• Passionate and open to learning new tools and developing with the latest technologies and frameworks
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues to ensure smooth operations.
• Document data engineering processes and best practices.

Within Fidelity Digital Assets, the Data Engineering team is responsible for operational data store and reporting. Additionally, data team manages data services hosted on the operational data stores and any file-based interfaces.
