Data Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities:

Design, build, and optimize data pipelines and workflows, primarily using Google BigQuery and related GCP tools.
Work with structured and semi-structured data across relational and NoSQL database
Develop robust data transformation scripts using Python and SQL.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and validation across ingestion and transformation processes.
Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
Maintain clear and effective communication, managing stakeholder expectations proactively.
Support data initiatives in industries such as Retail, CPG, and Manufacturing.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Must-Have:

Strong hands-on experience with Google BigQuery.
Excellent proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation.
Deep understanding of relational data modeling.
Experience with data extraction, loading (ETL/ELT), and transformation techniques.
Experience with both Relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases.
GCP Certification is a plus

Nice to Have:

Exposure to other cloud platforms and hyperscaler tools (e.g., AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Azure Synapse/Data Factory/Databricks, Oracle Exadata, Cosmos DB).
Knowledge of other GCP data tools such as Cloud Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Google Dataproc, or Looker.
Experience with data quality assessment and data governance practices.
