Overview

We are looking for a strong Data engineering lead to join the team that is responsible for building out a Middle office data/ODS layer. This is a critical priority for the division, and part of front to back initiative across trading, and middle & back office platform revamp

Investment_Management

In the Investment Management division, we deliver active investment strategies across public and private markets and custom solutions to institutional and individual investors.

IMIT App Dev

Operations Technology is responsible for building and operating the technology platform catering to critical business processes at Morgan Stanley including Settlements, Confirmations, Regulatory Reporting, Position Keeping, Corporate Actions processing and other post-trade functions. The Firm operates at scale with up to 60 million trades processed on peak volume days and several trillion dollars of daily settlements with activity ongoing in multiple countries and currencies across the globe. There is a great breadth of financial products that our Operations plant handles across equity and fixed income, from cash products to complex derivatives and loans.

Software Engineering

The Lead will get involved in the design, development, and testing of multi-tier systems and components across the platforms

What You’ll Do In The Role

• Strong interpersonal skills and good team spirit is required in addition to proficiency in verbal and written business communication.
• This job demands strong work ethic and ability to handle multiple priorities. As part of the team, you will be responsible for maintaining and growing a body of knowledge that is accessible to all team members.
• We support what we build - you will also be responsible for post-production L3 support on a rotation basis. It is very important that the candidate is self-motivated and can run independently with minimal supervision.
• Candidate will be expected to be very hands-on and pick-up domain knowledge quickly. We focus on solving business problem and not to be tied down by technology choices - it is extremely important that you are open to learn & work with new technologies.
• We are looking for a passionate technologist who's ready to learn & experiment with a wide range of technologies
  
  

• Strong in Data engineering/Data Modeling.
• Conversant in OLTP DBs and SQL.
• Exposure to latest warehousing technologies like Snowflake.
• Understanding of financial domain.
• Working knowledge of operating databases on cloud infrastructure.
• Strong collaboration skills.
• Extensive hands-on experience with SQL.
• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux, shell-scripting and Excel.
• Ability to forge strong relationships and coordinate effectively with multiple parties.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Detail oriented and organized.
• Experience working in a virtual or global team.
• Self-starter and ability to multi task with a -can do- attitude.
• Python exposure may be helpful.
• Experience on Report platforms and scheduling.
