About Team
The role of the Marketing Science team is to enable high quality data-driven decision making across all marketing channels, to ensure an optimal allocation of our significant marketing budget.We’re looking to create highly reliable and accurate data sources that can enable consistent analytical input to a wide range of marketing decisions. This is an opportunity to get to the core of online advertising and to solve some of the biggest problems faced by large digital marketers. In your team of Data Scientists, Analysts, and Machine Learning experts you’ll work with stakeholders across our business as well as with our advertising partners.
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our Marketing Data team and help enhance the data platform that powers world-class marketing insights.
In this role, you will work closely with fellow data engineers, analysts, data scientists, and marketing stakeholders to ensure the reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of data products that drive our marketing strategy. This includes customer segmentation, campaign attribution, performance measurement, and experimentation analysis across multiple channels.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Maintaining and optimizing data pipelines that process high volumes of marketing data from various sources (e.g., digital platforms, CRM, ad tech tools).
Developing robust monitoring, alerting, and testing frameworks to ensure data quality and operational reliability across marketing datasets.
Building and improving data models and infrastructure that support marketing attribution, funnel analysis, audience targeting, and A/B testing.
Enabling self-service data access for marketing teams by delivering well-documented, performant data products and interfaces.
Collaborating with cross-functional partners including product managers, marketing analysts, campaign managers, and data scientists based in Amsterdam and globally.
Your work will help ensure that marketing teams can experiment, iterate, and make data-driven decisions with confidence and agility.
The job requirements
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering as a Data Engineer or as a Software Engineer developing data pipelines and products.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field or 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the specialty as equivalent
Solid experience in at least one programming language. We use Java and Python
Experience building production data pipelines in the cloud, setting up data-lakes and server-less solutions
Hands-on experience with schema design and data modeling
Experience designing systems E2E and knowledge of basic concepts (lb, db, caching, NoSQL, etc)
Knowledge of CDC, Kafka, Airflow, Snowflake, DBT or equivalent tools
Practical experience building data platform capabilities like testing, alerting, monitoring, debugging, security
Experience working with big data.
Experience working with teams located in different timezones is a plus
Experience with experimentation, statistics and A/B testing is a plus
