Data Migration Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Migration Engineer to support enterprise-scale data migration initiatives. This role will focus on ETL design and development, data mapping, automation, and data quality assurance, with an emphasis on accuracy, performance, and efficiency. You will play a key role in enabling seamless migration of complex datasets across systems.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines for end-to-end data migration efforts.
• Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading from source to target systems.
• Analyze data sources and define accurate and efficient data mapping and transformation logic.
• Create automation scripts to streamline migration processes using languages such as Python, Shell, or PowerShell.
• Conduct thorough data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance throughout the migration lifecycle.
• Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot issues, resolve data anomalies, and ensure data integrity across systems.
• Document migration strategies, workflows, and key learnings for future use.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years of experience in ETL development and data migration projects.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and familiarity with one or more ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS, Azure Data Factory).
• Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• Experience in data mapping, transformation, and cleansing.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell, PowerShell) for task automation.
• Strong focus on data quality, consistency, and validation methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills in a distributed environment.
