Data Remediation Engineer

Experience Required : 5 - 8 Years

Location : Remote (India-based candidates preferred, working EST hours)

Availability : Immediate to 15 Days

About The Role

We are seeking a Data Issue Fix Engineer / Data Remediation Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and fixing complex data issues across multiple systems and databases. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and reproducibility, particularly in the context of clinical trial and multi-tenant platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues across multiple related tables.
• Write and optimize advanced SQL queries, including joins, CTEs, window functions, temp tables, and nested queries.
• Implement schema-level fixes, rollback logic, and work with migration tools such as Phinx or Flyway.
• Validate data using test cases to ensure consistency, accuracy, and reproducibility.
• Work on data remediation within clinical trial systems (CTMS, eSource, or similar platforms).
• Collaborate using Jira for ticket lifecycle management, tagging, and workflow tracking.
• Document root cause analysis clearly and communicate findings with stakeholders.
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands-on expertise in Advanced SQL.
• Proven experience in debugging data issues across complex relational database systems.
• Experience with schema-level fixes, rollback logic, and migration tooling (Phinx, Flyway, Liquibase, etc.).
• Knowledge of data validation techniques and writing reproducible test cases.
• Familiarity with clinical trial systems, CTMS, eSource, or multi-tenant platforms (preferred).
• Experience with Jira and understanding of ticket lifecycle management.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to document and explain root causes.
