Position Summary 

Level: Manager

As a Manager at Deloitte Consulting, you will oversee the technical delivery of enterprise-scale software solutions, lead cross-functional and global teams and mentor junior members. You will collaborate to understand functional requirements, support sales and proposal efforts, and drive end-to-end project delivery, including estimation and planning, to ensure successful outcomes. 

Work you’ll do

We are looking for an Applied Numerical Optimization Expert with extensive experience in mixed integer programming, linear programming, derivative-free optimization, optimization problem formulation, and testing the scalability of solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong applied Python skills and familiarity with solvers such as Gurobi or IPOPT. This role involves developing and implementing optimization models to solve complex problems and improve operational efficiencies .

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement optimization models using mixed integer programming, linear programming, and derivative-free optimization techniques.
• Formulate and solve complex optimization problems to meet business objectives .
• Test and validate the scalability and performance of optimization solutions.
• Utilize Python for developing, testing, and deploying optimization algorithms.
• Integrate optimization models with existing systems and workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into optimization problems.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in optimization techniques and tools.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Qualifications

Must Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:

• Master's or Ph.D. degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in numerical optimization.
• Strong expertise in mixed integer programming, linear programming, and derivative-free optimization.
• Proven experience in optimization problem formulation and solution scalability testing.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with optimization libraries and frameworks.
• Familiarity with optimization solvers such as Gurobi , IPOPT, or similar tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills .

• Experience with large-scale optimization problems.
• Knowledge of machine learning techniques and their integration with optimization models.
• Familiarity with cloud-based optimization platforms.
• Experience in developing custom optimization algorithms.
• Strong publication record in optimization-related journals or conferences.
  
  

Education: 

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (3 Year) within a technical field.
