Data Scientist

In this role you will:

• Develop and deliver high quality, analytics and insights using ML and statistical models to uncover business learnings for the US commercial business at the patient, HCP/EE segment, and health system level aligned with analytical priorities for:

  • Customer Segmentation

  • Impact Measurement

  • Omnichannel analytics

  • Resource Allocation and budget Optimization

  • Experimental design (test/control) analyses

• Maintain thorough documentation of data analysis processes, code development, and insights.

• Use storytelling, powerful visual presentation to demonstrate power of utilizing data science with business partners and analytics team members which enable fact-based recommendations that inspire usage for data driven decisions

• Create and maintain dynamic dashboards and reports in traditional BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) and GenAI driven tools (e.g. Databricks Genie) to translate complex data findings into actionable business insights for commercial stakeholders

• Act as a data science expert, by learning and contributing to GSKs’ data science community to grow their data skills, build best practices, and grow data science literacy within the organization

• Earn the trust of stakeholder partners to drive data-driven decisions through active engagement, advanced analytics expertise, demonstrated learning, and business knowledge.

• Establish and define project plans, proactively seek inputs needed to complete results according to plan and deliver milestones according to plan.

• Collaborate on cross-matrix teams and demonstrate subject matter expertise with other teams/functions to drive efficiencies and seamless decision making.

This position requires technical knowledge, but also significant interpersonal and communication ability. We are looking for someone who can work effectively across boundaries – both cultural and functional. This international role requires a flexible communication style and astute cultural awareness are highly valued.

Required qualifications and skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in data science, mathematics, computer science or a related field

• 4+ years of demonstrable experience in data analytics and technical work

• Strong coding experience in Python, Pyspark and/or SQL programming and proficiency in visualization tools and experience with version control (i.e. git)

• Excellent problem solving and data analysis skills.

• Comprehensive experience in retrieving, exploring, and analysing data using ML methods like regression, clustering, ANCOVA, etc.,

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in pharma commercial domain

• Understanding of IQVIA Claims, APLD, LAAD, XPO, marketing and sales datasets

• Familiarity with working in cloud compute environment (e.g. Azure), using distributed compute for large datasets.

• Analytic curiosity to develop innovative solutions to solve complex problems

• Understanding of business needs and ability to develop appropriate solutions

• Demonstrate teamwork and strong collaborative partnerships
