Enterprise data warehouse supports several critical business functions for the bank including Regulatory Reporting, Finance, Risk steering, and Customer 360. This role is vital for building and maintaining enterprise data platform, data processes, and to support business objectives. Key Deliverables (Duties and Responsibilities)

• Develop test plans, strategies, and test cases for various data testing needs, including data validation, schema verification, data transformations, and data quality checks.
• Automate testing processes using scripting languages (Python, Java, Scala) or tools like DBT to create generic and custom test cases.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness by implementing data profiling, validation, and cleansing workflows.
• Test data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure data integrity and timely delivery.
• Work with data engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements, identify testing needs, and address data-related issues.
• Possess good understanding of data validation, data profiling, data cleansing, and data quality metrics.
• Test and optimize data pipeline processing performance, ensuring efficient data flow.
• Maintain and configure test environments, including data sources, databases, and other necessary components.
• Contribute to the implementation and management of data governance processes and data cataloging tools to ensure data discoverability, lineage, and metadata management.
• Keep testing frameworks and processes up to date, optimize test execution, and implement new technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Keep abreast of the latest data testing technologies, tools, and methodologies to ensure the organization's testing practices are current and effective.
• Working in Agile framework, participating in various agile ceremonies, co-ordination with scrum master, tech lead, and PO in sprint planning, backlog creation, refinement, demo, and retrospection.
• Working with Product Owners to understand PI goals, PI planning, requirement clarification, and delivery coordination.
• Support for production incidents and failures fixes.
• Contribute to the development of data testing frameworks and methodologies.
• Work with global technology teams across different time zones (primarily US) to deliver timely business value.

Technical/Business Skills

• Data Engineering:
• Experience in test designing and execution of various test scenarios for Modern Data Platform/Data Warehouse and Data lakes.
• Good knowledge of data warehouse principles, and concepts.
• Experience with public cloud-based data platforms especially Snowflake and AWS.
• Experience with data profiling and validation tools and technologies.
• Knowledge of various data storage formats and databases (e.g., relational databases, NoSQL databases).
  
  

Data Validation skills:

• Strong understanding of data quality principles, validation techniques, and data governance frameworks.
• Ability to develop comprehensive test cases to validate the data platforms and application and contributing to the data testing efforts.
• Ability to understand the data transformation mappings, convert data transformations to validation SQL scripts for test execution.
• Ability to write complex SQL queries for data validation, extraction, and analysis.
• Testing data solutions and pipelines provided in any of industry leading ETL tools such as SAP Business Objects Data Services (BODS), Informatica Cloud Data Integration Services (IICS), IBM Data Stage.
• Knowledge of ELT tools such as DBT, Fivetran, and AWS Glue
• Expert in SQL – data validation experience in at least one scripting language (Python etc.), adept in tracing and identifying data quality and integrity issues.
• Fair knowledge in developing test automation framework and effectively using it as part of test execution and reporting process.
• Possess good understanding of test managements tools like Jira Xray, Synapse for designing test cases and logging defects for tracking.
• Experience in Gitlab version control and CI/CD processes.
• Experience working in Financial Industry & Regulatory is a plus.
